KAWARTHA LAKES — The Ontario government is supporting an investment of $3,446,856 by Lighthouse Cabinetry to boost local manufacturing and create 13 new, good-paying jobs. As part of this investment, the government is providing Lighthouse Cabinetry with $500,000 in funding through the Regional Development Program’s Eastern Ontario Development Fund.

This funding was announced today by Laurie Scott, Member of Provincial Parliament for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock.

“Our government is building a strong Ontario and strengthening the economy by supporting key investments in communities like the Kawartha Lakes,” said MPP Laurie Scott. “Lighthouse Cabinetry’s investment will grow local manufacturing and create additional good-paying jobs for workers and families in our community.”

Lighthouse Cabinetry is investing $3,446,856 for a building renovation and new 10,000 sq. ft. expansion to house new automation equipment. This new project will help the company to manufacture product they currently buy offshore and re-sell, as well as add to their product offerings. 13 new jobs will be created through this project.

“This funding will assist our company in adding critical infrastructure, advanced machinery and skilled trades people needed to improve our manufacturing plant in Lindsay,” said Jason MacDonald, President of Lighthouse Cabinetry. “We would like to thank the province for assisting us as we move into our next stage of expansion at Lighthouse.”

Ontario is making investments through its Regional Development Program to help manufacturers across the province grow, while supporting distinct regional priorities and challenges. To date, Ontario has provided more than $140 million to support more than 110 projects through the program, leveraging more than $1.5 billion in new investments and helping to create more than 2,800 jobs in the province.

Applications for the next intake round of Regional Development Program funding begin on April 11, 2024.

“Our government is proud to support local manufacturers across the province as they grow and create more good-paying jobs.” said Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. “Investing in these types of community-building projects will help us continue to build Ontario and strengthen the economy. We thank Lighthouse Cabinetry for making a significant impact in their community and contributing to our province’s growing manufacturing sector.”
