LINDSAY — The Ontario government is improving access to a wider range of health services for the community through a $15 million investment to help open the Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes Community Health Centre. Diligent collaboration between the Province and Community Care helped bring this multi-room facility to life. The Health Centre will also employ over 60 staff members, ensuring that the community has access to the programs and services they need, when they need it.

“Community Care has brought significant quality of life improvements to Kawartha Lakes through its variety of programs from nutrition and senior supports to wellness programs and hospice services,” said MPP Laurie Scott, MPP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock. “Our government is proud to see the vision for this Health Centre come to life so people can access vital services quickly and efficiently”.

The Health Centre offers an array of services including: a primary care clinic, a dental clinic, and a GAIN (Geriatric Assessment and Intervention Network). Located at 21 Angeline St. N. in Lindsay, the Centre will be open from 8:30am to 4:30pm on weekdays. Community Care has been foundational in supporting and enhancing the quality of life for people across the City of Kawartha Lakes. From Meals on Wheels, the Adult Day Program, to a host of Exercise Programs, Community Care continues to be a cornerstone for enriching the community.

“The Grand Opening of Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes’ Community Health Centre is an incredibly exciting day for our organization and also our community…” said Ryan Alexander, CEO of Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes. “This Community Health Centre was made possible through the commitment and dedication of many people from past and existing boards of directors, staff, funders, donors, and more. We are excited to have this Community Health Centre anchor Community Care in our community, now and for the future!”
