New $20,615 investment will support jobs and strengthen the local arts and culture sector
HALIBURTON, KAWARTHA LAKES, BROCK – The Ontario government is investing over $20,000 in Haliburton – Kawartha Lakes – Brock to support good jobs and offer access to arts activities and experiences for communities across Ontario. This is part of the government’s plan to protect Ontario by supporting workers, businesses and communities in the face of ongoing economic uncertainty.
Haliburton County Folk Society, Razzamataz Kids Shows, and the Haliburton Sculpture Forest will receive funding through the Ontario Arts Council, an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming.
“Our government understands the important role professional artists play in fostering dynamic and thriving communities across Ontario,” said Laurie Scott, MPP Haliburton – Kawartha Lakes – Brock. “This support will help our communitie’s artists and arts organizations continue to make a positive impact on our economy, create good jobs and draw more visitors to our community.”
The Ontario Arts Presenters Projects program helps grow audiences in communities outside Toronto by funding local presenters, volunteers and public institutions to bring in professional artists and offer activities that connect them with residents. In Haliburton – Kawartha Lakes – Brock this funding will enable organizations to bring community members together through the arts with new programing.
