The Ontario government is making another investment in small, rural, and northern communities. Through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF), Ontario continues to support municipalities as they build and repair roads, bridges, water, and wastewater infrastructure.
This year, municipalities in Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock will receive a total of more than $7.6 million to address their local infrastructure needs.
“Ontario’s small, rural, and northern communities, including many in our riding, are essential to the growth and prosperity of the province,” said MPP Laurie Scott, Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock. “The government is continuing to counter rising inflation by providing stable funding to meet local infrastructure needs and support the creation of new jobs. By supporting key infrastructure projects locally, we are helping to grow and build safer, more resilient communities for years to come.”
Total investments in communities across Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock are as follows:
Municipality | OCIF Allocation 2023 |
City of Kawartha Lakes | $5,200,039 |
County of Haliburton | $535,784 |
Municipality of Highlands East | $100,000 |
Township of Algonquin Highlands | $115,000 |
Township of Brock | $711,224 |

Township of Dysart et al | $331,153 |
Township of Minden Hills | $192,937 |

The funding above is part of Ontario’s approximately $400 million commitment to 425 communities to help them address their core infrastructure projects and asset management planning needs in 2023.
By recognizing that municipalities have different infrastructure needs, the province uses a straightforward and transparent formula that examines various socioeconomic factors to determine funding allocations across the province.
